Spotlight 29 Welcomes Iconic Guitarist Joe Walsh

Joe Walsh

You certainly can’t say we lack music in this Valley. We have had two weekends of Coachella and one weekend of Stagecoach just within the past month or so and that’s not counting all the other concerts and musical events from Palm Springs to Indio. For those of us who love music, we can never have too much. One of the most iconic guitarists of all time will be here in the valley on May 19. The legendary guitarist of Eagle’s fame, Mr. Joe Walsh, will take the stage at Spotlight 29 Casino at 8 PM to the delight of his fans everywhere.

He is probably best known for his powerful and unique guitar riffs and with over four decades in his career, he’s had plenty of practice. Some of his classic hits such as Funk # 49, Walk Away, Ordinary Average Guy, and Life’s Been Good have been chart toppers and favorites for years. He has actually been with five incredibly successful bands, although he is probably best known for his time with the Eagles.

In 1994 after a 14 year absence and several solo albums, the Eagles released Hell Freezes Over which hit number one on the Billboard charts and was the genesis of one of the most talked about and successful music tours in the business. Walsh also performed at the 2012 Grammys along with Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen and has enjoyed an immensely successful solo career on his own. In 2015 he joined Eddie Vedder and Pete Townsend for an All-Star Celebration of The Who’s music to benefit Teen Cancer America. But that’s not unusual for the philanthropic Joe Walsh who has given his time and money to a wide range of charitable pursuits and organizations.

Born in Wichita, Kansas in 1947 Walsh’s career is the stuff dreams are made of. Rolling Stone magazine listed him at Number 54 of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. That is no small honor when you consider how many amazing guitarists we have enjoyed over the years. If you have ever spent some time listening to the incredible guitar work of Joe Walsh, you know exactly what we’re talking about. In a 1998 reader’s poll conducted by “Guitarist Magazine” the guitar solos on the Hotel California track by Don Felder and Joe Walsh were judged as the best guitar solos of all time. It’s hard to argue with perfection.

Go out and make it a great week, and we hope to see you at the Joe Walsh Concert as you enjoy another beautiful weekend in the Coachella Valley!
