Summer evenings have never been more fun than on Thursday nights from 7 to 10PM at the Downtown Palm Springs VillageFest. Most of you know that this pedestrian street fair comes alive with live entertainment, fresh cooked foods, carriage rides, and a vast array of just about anything you can think of to shop for. I was thumbing through the vendor list this week and thought it would be nice to mention a few of the truly unique vendors we have access to every Thursday night. There is nothing “usual” about VillageFest!
The Annette Marie Art Collection features handcrafted sterling jewelry, pendants, rings, necklaces, paintings and acrylic paintings. For extra virgin flavored and regular olive oils Ambrosia Foods, Inc. is always on hand. One of my own favorites is Aqua Soaps and Desert Elements where I can pick up handcrafted artisan soaps, lotions and Shea butters to help fight dry skin from our sunny and dry desert climate.
AB Group is also on hand with nature and wildlife photography. For coffee lovers, The Bean Boys carry 83 different varieties of gourmet coffee. If you enjoy pottery art, Bear Flag Pottery is a stop you must make. Unique handmade pottery of all kinds is a delight to see. Bohemian Steampunk carries amazing handcrafted jewelry made from vintage clocks and watches. Handcrafted lamps are made from recycled parts and you could find one-of-a-kind items here that you can’t find anywhere else.
Of course, it would be a street fair without fresh produce so be sure and visit Fargo Produce and Farmers Daughter, just two of the incredible vendors with top-quality produce grown locally and organically. Camlon Farm is another great stop with handmade goat milk soap, lotions, pens and shaving sets. Borusky Woodworks will have anything you like in woodcrafts. Guatemala Handicrafts and Hawaiian Lei Bath and Body will have what you need without traveling to Central America or across the Pacific to the islands.
There is so much more on offer every week at VillageFest. I wanted to give you a small sample of the unique and amazing items that are regular fare at this most unusual open-air market. Come for the shopping and stay for the delicious tamales, tri-tip, or other specialty foods prepared on site for your enjoyment. Go out and make it a great week and I hope to see you there!
