Starting on Thursday, October 20, 2016 and continuing through Saturday, October 22 the Valley will be treated to the fabulous Palm Springs Flying Aviation Expo at multiple venues scattered around the Palm Springs area. One of the biggest events of its kind, the agenda is jam-packed with three days of exciting exhibits, seminars, celebrity appearances, entertainment, parties and so much more.
Produced by Scheyden the prestigious eyewear company partnering with Flying Magazine and the City of Palm Springs there will simply be not a moment wasted for anyone who loves the aviation industry. The elite Flying Aviation Expo team led by Jeff Herold who is himself a pilot, has pulled out all the stops to make this one of the biggest events of the year for the Coachella Valley.
This industry collaboration brings together pilot products, aircraft manufacturers, pilots and other aviation industry professionals as well as the general public for purposes of education, recreation, shopping for the latest products in flying, and a look at the most innovative aspects of the aviation industry.
The Thursday 9 AM opening will feature Marke “Hoot” Gibson, as the FAA keynote, speaking on “The Most Fundamental Change in aviation In Our Lifetimes – Integrating Drones in the NAS” for what I’m sure will be a very exciting and informative morning. Expect to see and hear some of the industry’s most popular stars such as, SkyChicks Backcountry Flying Adventures and Laugh and Learn with Rod Machado.
Arguably the most festive event of the Expo will be the Saturday night party at the Palm Springs Air Museum featuring America’s Got Talent finalist, “Sal the Voice” singing American standards he learned at his grandmother’s knee. Attendees will be able to dance to The Night Owl Band and dine on a delicious buffet dinner. There will be a raffle to support Angel Flight West at the Museum and with the theme centered on James Bond 007 everyone is encouraged to dress the part.
I predict a very action-packed three days at the Expo with plenty of interest in our local luxury homes to keep my team and I busy. Go out and make it a great week and we hope to see you there!
