As I’m sure you probably already know, from March 6-19, 2017 the fabulous Indian Wells Tennis Gardens will host the BNP Paribas Open, one of the premier tennis tournaments on the planet. This is a signature event in the Coachella Valley and one of the most exciting times during our popular high season. Situated just next-door to La Quinta, Indian Wells is one of the most beautiful resort cities in the world. Home to professionally designed golf courses, palatial hotels, and the ultimate in luxury spas, there is no place quite like it.
The Indian Wells Tennis Gardens are one of the jewels in an already star-studded crown. Considered the ultimate tennis center of Southern California, Stadium 1 is the second largest in the world with a whopping 16,100 seats offering amazing views of center court, 44 luxurious stadium suites, and surrounded by locker rooms, a press room, broadcast booths and a 6000 square-foot commissary. The bucolic grounds cover a generous 54 acres and includes Stadium 2 with 8000 seats and three fine dining restaurants. Even the celebrity favorite Japanese restaurant Nobu can be found in this incredible venue.
Every year attendance at the open has increased substantially, with just under half a million spectators last year. Each day of the event attendees may enjoy something new and special. For instance, on Saturday, March 4 from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM BNP Paribas Open Kid’s Day Will Welcome the Living Deserts Wildlife on Wheels, Harper for Kids and special appearances by the ATP world tour and WTA professional players themselves.
Champions Night on March 9, will benefit The Champions Volunteer Foundation As Well as many other local charities. A percentage of every ticket sold during the evening session will be donated to the foundation. Also on Friday, March 10 Salute to Heroes will feature a special ceremony recognizing veterans, military personnel, police and firemen, offering a nod to those among us who protect and defend and serve.
