Summer in Palm Springs is not known for cool, but the Backstreet Art District 1st Wednesday Art Walk always seems to change that. On the first Wednesday of each month from 5pm to 8pm, this charming artistic backstreet features the brightest and best of local artisans with true genius. With every medium and genre an art patron could ask for, these charming and eclectic art galleries are complete with original artists and open studios.
There is even live music, and of course the art district is surrounded by some of the best restaurants in Palm Springs including gaming, theater, and so much more to enjoy following an evening stroll through the world of fine art. One of the most exciting aspects of this fine evening is that you never know what will await you. From handcrafted jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, photography, engravings, and more you are sure to find it all right here at home. A perfect time to get a jump on your Christmas shopping, the Art Walk features unique and one-of-a-kind items that are heirloom material.
Among the well-known local names, you will find: Maxson Art Studio, Minerva’s Gallery, Artiz, Studio 13, Rebel Art Space, Fusion Art and the David A. Clark Studio. You may also have custom framing done at Howard’s Custom Frame. Perhaps the most unique idea of the whole experience however, is the ability to meet and interact with the artists themselves. This is one of the attractions that keep art lovers and collectors coming back week after week and year after year.
From 5pm to 8pm visitors take a leisurely stroll along the designated route enjoying the artistic mastery of accomplished artisans whose lives are dedicated to creating original works for the pure enjoyment and appreciation of others. Palm Springs is renowned for its dedication to all things creative and throughout the year one can enjoy numerous art exhibits and gala festivals featuring world class names. It is no wonder that the greater Palm Springs area is home to so many art collectors. I know that among my own real estate clients a large portion are connoisseurs and patron who enjoy all mediums. Go out and make it a great week and hope to see you at the Art Walk this summer!
